Description
This volume brings together some of the papers presented during the VIII edition of the seminar “INVALSI data: a tool for research and teaching” (Rome, 23-26 November 2023) and addresses the theme of Learning to Learn (LtL), a key competence for lifelong learning, recognised by the European Union as essential for life and active citizenship. Despite its importance, the definition and promotion of this competence remain unresolved challenges, both theoretically and in practice. The difficulties in translating LtL into effective educational practices are reflected in the variety of approaches and interpretations that emerge in school, university and training contexts. Contributions here presented explore the implementation and assessment of LtL in various educational contexts. Through these six perspectives, the volume aims to offer food for thought, empirical evidence and practical tools to promote LtL in a more informed and effective manner, helping to bridge the gap between theoretical principles and educational practices. The challenge is ambitious: to educate individuals capable of lifelong learning in constantly changing contexts.
