II Seminar
"INVALSI data: a research tool"
17/11/2017 – 18/11/2017
CALL FOR PROPOSAL
The 2nd “INVALSI data: a research tool” Seminar will be held in Florence on 17 and 18 November 2017. The purpose of the Seminar is to enhance the utility and the potentiality of the INVALSI data in educational research. The data collected annually by the Institute are a precious tool for investigating the characteristics of the school system and to plan strengthening interventions. Interested parties are therefore invited to submit research works based on INVALSI data.
PROGRAM
SUBMISSION
All authors have to register at the page https://invalsi-serviziostatistico.cineca.it/index.php?posizione=ss&form=eventi and submit an abstract (written in Italian and in English, up to 350 words) together with 3-6 keywords (written in Italian and in English) and a short biography (written in Italian and in English, up to 50 words) of each author.
The abstract should summarize the entire work to allow the reader to quickly get an idea of the final paper. For this reason, an abstract should be:
- accurate: providing the aims and content of the contribution and not including not necessary information;
- non-evaluative: it has to report data without any kind of judgement;
- coherent and legible: language should be clear and concise; use verbs rather than their noun equivalents and the active rather than the passive voice;
- concise: each sentence should be maximally informative, include in the abstract only four or five of the leading concepts, observations or implications; do not include bibliographic references. The abstract of an empirical study should describe:
- the problem under investigation, possibly in one sentence;
- the participants;
- the essential characteristics of the experimental method;
- the main results.
The abstract of a methodological paper should describe:
- the field of application;
- the essential features of the proposed method;
- the potentials of the proposed method.
Guidelines for the presentation of final contributions
The final paper should be written in Times new roman 12, line spacing 1,5 and should not exceed 6.000 words, including references. For bibliographic references use APA Style (American Psychological Association).
I contributi potranno essere redatti in lingua italiana o inglese e saranno sottoposti al vaglio di un software antiplagio.
Deadlines
The deadline for the abstract submission is 20 June 2017.
The notification of acceptance will be sent before 14 July 2017.
The final draft will be uploaded no later than 15 October 2017.
Each author should upload the paper presentation for the Seminar (up to 20 slides) no later than 30 October 2017.
Paper Publication
The papers presented at the Seminar, if not already published or under consideration for publication elsewhere, will undergo a double blind peer review process and published in a volume with ISBN code.
La data di scadenza per l’invio dei contributi definitivi è l’11 dicembre 2017.
