The seminar “INVALSI Data: A Tool for Research and Teaching” began in September 2016 with the aim of promoting and supporting the usefulness and potential of INVALSI data in scientific research. Since then, the wealth of information—consisting of databases and assessment tools—collected by the Institute through both national and international surveys has grown significantly and can now be considered a valuable resource for studies in the field of education.
Within the INVALSI Research Series, several volumes offer examples of how INVALSI data can be used. This latest publication adds to that collection, gathering a selection of works presented during the seventh edition of the seminar, held in Rome from October 27 to 30, 2022. The chapters provide insights into the various ways INVALSI tools can be applied.
Like the Statistical Department, we hope that the contributions presented here will enrich the scientific community—and beyond—with examples of how INVALSI materials, which are made publicly available, can be used. We also hope that working with INVALSI data will become a common practice aimed at improving the educational process.
