Description
School education is an organized form of learning that takes place in schools and exerts a strong influence on members of society. It is therefore fair to ask what happens when this organization loses its distinctive structure due to unexpected and unavoidable events. In 2020, the closure of schools as physical places of learning was one of the first measures implemented to counter the spread of the Covid-19 virus, and it had significant repercussions on the daily lives of students, teachers, and families. The works collected in this volume, the result of the seminar days of the seventh edition of the event “INVALSI Data: A Tool for Research and Teaching” (Rome, October 27–30, 2022), give voice to some of the responses provided by schools. The reflections and analyses by teachers and researchers are part of a line of educational research aimed at constantly seeking answers to the changes that, in various ways, may affect the school system. As the Statistical Service, we hope that INVALSI data can help all the actors involved in these reflections.
