Newsletter “The Insights of the Statistical Department”
Date:
2 November 2022

Making INVALSI’s data and analyses more and more accessible and usable.
The newsletter "Insights from the Statistical Department" is an additional outreach tool through which INVALSI’s Statistical Department presents, on a monthly basis, selected topics of interest for the research and education communities. These topics can be explored through the data produced and processed by the Institute.
The newsletter also gives space to the results of further research, studies, and in-depth analyses carried out over time by research institutions, universities, and researchers, starting precisely from the data made available by the Institute for the school community, the scientific community, and society as a whole.
The project, which began in November 2021, has covered various themes: the open data system that the Statistical Department has made available to the public; the seminar events organized by the Institute aimed at investigating the characteristics of the education system and defining any support or enhancement interventions; the series of webinars on Covid-19, which sought to bring together authoritative experts to observe the epidemiological phenomenon from various perspectives; the issue of inequality in schools linked to gender differences; the presentation of the National Report, which emphasizes the need for reliable data to implement adequate actions supporting schools in their improvement processes; the supplementary surveys (Teacher Questionnaire and Principal Questionnaire) aimed at understanding teachers’ and principals’ attitudes toward national surveys; the data feedback process; the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR); and more.
With this dissemination tool, which we hope will be useful to those interested in INVALSI data both for knowledge purposes and for further analysis, we aim to encourage dialogue and contribute to an ever-greater sharing of what the Institute produces in order to open new opportunities for discussion and collaboration with schools, the scientific community, and society.
Happy reading !
