INVALSI data enables us to identify pupils who achieve high results despite coming from disadvantaged socio-economic and cultural backgrounds. How widespread is this phenomenon? Where is it most commonly observed? What can we learn from the contexts in which these success stories are most frequent?
As usual, the August issue of the newsletter Insights from the Statistical Department is dedicated to the presentation of the results of the National Student Assessment Surveys for the 2025/26 school year. These results are analysed and published in the 2026 National Report, which was presented on 16 July at the Chamber of Deputies’ Palazzo dei Gruppi Parlamentari in Rome.

In this issue of the newsletter “The Insights of the Statistical Department”, we continue along the same line of analysis as in the previous issue of September 2025, where we began an in-depth exploration of the interactions between students’ socio-demographic characteristics, this time focusing on migrant background and its interactions with other conditions of vulnerability.

This initiative serves as a forum for discussion and experimentation with active and inclusive methodologies.
