The December issue of the newsletter “The Insights of the Statistical Department”, of the month of October is dedicated to equity in learning assessment. Even before reading the scores and interpreting the differences between male and female students, classes, and regions, it is necessary to question the quality of the tools used to measure those results.

The December issue, published in September, is devoted to a topic we might call 'Against all odds: A Portrait of Resilient Pupils'. INVALSI data enables us to identify pupils who achieve high results despite coming from disadvantaged socio-economic and cultural backgrounds. How widespread is this phenomenon? Where is it most commonly observed? What can we learn from the contexts in which these success stories are most frequent?
As usual, the August issue of the newsletter Insights from the Statistical Department is dedicated to the presentation of the results of the National Student Assessment Surveys for the 2025/26 school year. These results are analysed and published in the 2026 National Report, which was presented on 16 July at the Chamber of Deputies’ Palazzo dei Gruppi Parlamentari in Rome.
