EDITION 4 - INVALSI DATA FOR INFORMATIONAL, EDUCATIONAL AND IMPROVEMENT USE

03/10/2023 17/01/2024

Introduction

The results of the INVALSI tests provide schools with a very rich and articulated wealth of information that, if well used, can offer essential points for reflection, with a view to improvement, at the educational, organizational and governance management level and, therefore, with spillover from the individual class to the entire school, thanks to the involvement of the entire school community (class council, teachers' board, disciplinary departments, school board, etc.).

Objectives and learning outcomes

The course aims to provide participants with theoretical notions and interpretive tools in order to use data derived from INVALSI tests for information, training and improvement. Specifically, at the end of the training, participants will be able to:

- Know the purpose, characteristics and structure of INVALSI tests;

- Read and interpret INVALSI test data at the grade and school level;

- Locate the information of interest in the current data return page and microdata file;

- Design improvement actions at the class and school level from INVALSI test results;

- Set up effective communication actions of INVALSI test data within the school.

Target audience

The course is aimed primarily at INVALSI referents but is also open to all Primary, Secondary I and II grade teachers. To register for the course, it is necessary to have access to the SOFIA platform (for more information: https://sofia.istruzione.it/).

Course structure

The course includes live lectures and exercises, time for individual study and in-depth study, and a final phase of personal work.

Study materials and insights

Lecture slides, in-depth .pdf documents, sitography and summary bibliography for reference.

Subscriptions

You can register for the course free of charge only through the SOFIA platform (code 81440), if enabled to use it, from Tuesday, September 19, 2023 to Tuesday, September 26, 2023. Enrollment may be closed early in case of exhaustion of available seats (295 participants).

Important - Since the course has a limited number of participants, please enroll only if truly motivated to participate fully and cancel your enrollment (in the proposed window) if aware of unforeseen contingencies.

Note:
- Before enrolling, please make sure that the e-mail box indicated in the SOFIA platform is still active and that it is frequently checked; if it is not, we recommend that you first change it (otherwise you will not be able to receive communications) and, only then, enroll in the chosen edition
- In the days after registration closes and immediately prior to the start of the course, you are encouraged to check the mailing address provided in the SOFIA platform to receive more detailed information about the start of the training course
- The SOFIA platform, by ministerial decision, does not allow enrollment for teachers who are not tenured or in probationary year, school principals, teachers or educational coordinators of peer schools, and school personnel from Trentino Alto-Adige and Valle d'Aosta. For teachers who fall into these groups "excluded" from the SOFIA platform, additional parallel training paths are provided
- In case the maximum number of enrollments is reached, please check the course on SOFIA by verifying whether, in case of dropouts, the platform would provide the opportunity to enroll to "fill" the seats left vacant. Since it is not possible to accept enrollments outside the mode provided in SOFIA, please do not write emails to be informed or put on a waiting list
- Any new editions will be announced and publicized by e-mail to schools and on the INVALSI website
