Now in its eighth edition, the event aims to bring the worlds of scientific research and education closer together, creating a dedicated space for meaningful dialogue through the sharing of ideas and practices among professionals in the fields of education and research.
INVALSI assessments have been at the heart of the educational debate for years. The use of standardized assessments like those developed by INVALSI is part of a broader analysis of European education systems, which must be considered within the framework of educational policy at the European level.
This issue of the newsletter “Insights from the Statistical Department” focuses on training activities and the recently added dedicated section on the new INVALSI Statistical Department website.
The interruption of in-person classes that characterized the 19/20 school year, a decision put in place to prevent the spread of the Covid-19, had among its consequences the suspension of the national INVALSI assessments, regularly administered in the following school year. During the days of the VI Seminar "INVALSI data: a tool for research and teaching" (Rome, 25-28 November, 2021), it was therefore possible for researchers and teachers to return to use those results as a tool for investigation with respect to the effects of the pandemic crisis within the school world.
INVALSI, since more than 20 years, has been engaged in the construction of Italian, Mathematics and English tests, following the most internationally accredited technical-scientific methodologies, in order to measure the competences of male and female students at different steps of the school path.
The topic of the October newsletter "Statistical Department Insights" is dedicated to a mode of data dissemination that we have been using for some time and we consider a key tool for those interested in a specific focus of the surveys and who want an immediate representation of them: the INVALSI page of Tableau.
