This volume brings together several papers presented during the VII Seminar “INVALSI Data: A Tool for Research and Teaching” (Rome, October 27–30, 2022). The contributions explore the value and impact of self-evaluation processes, with particular attention to the use of standardized tests, the involvement of school communities, and educational experiences that foster a widespread and shared culture of assessment.
The July 2025 issue of the newsletter “Insights from the Statistical Department” offers a summary of several important training activities organized by INVALSI in recent years.
This volume brings together five papers presented during the VIII Seminar “INVALSI Data: A Tool for Research and Teaching” (Rome, November 23–26, 2023). The contributions are part of a field of study that views INVALSI assessments as a valuable resource for teachers and for schools as a whole.
The volume collects several research papers presented at the seventh edition of the Seminar "INVALSI data: a tool for teaching and scientific research" (held in Rome from October 27 to 30, 2022), which demonstrate how INVALSI data, when combined with data from other organizations and institutions, provide important insights into the Italian school system.
On the initiative of the Faculty of Education at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, the first edition of the second-level Master’s program “MISEQ – Theories, Methodologies, and Practices for Measuring Equity in the School System” has been launched”.
The call for abstracts for the X Seminar “Data of and for the Education System: Tools for Research and Teaching,” to be held in Rome from 19 to 21 November 2025, is open from 12 June to 22 June 2025.
Among the many data resources made available by INVALSI in its extensive catalogue are those related to international surveys. In this issue of the newsletter “Insights from the Statistical Department,” we focus on surveys conducted by the OECD—such as PISA (Programme for International Student Assessment)—and by the IEA (International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement), such as TIMSS (Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study).
The seminar on Research and Evaluation will be held on 18 June.
