In this issue of the newsletter “The Insights of the Statistical Department”, we continue along the same line of analysis as in the previous issue of September 2025, where we began an in-depth exploration of the interactions between students’ socio-demographic characteristics, this time focusing on migrant background and its interactions with other conditions of vulnerability.
INVALSI is organising a research seminar for school heads and INVALSI staff. The seminar will be held exclusively in person at the INVALSI “Aldo Visalberghi” Library in Rome (Via Ippolito Nievo, 35) on Tuesday 14 April 2026 (full day) and on Wednesday 15 April 2026 (morning).
INVALSI is launching an open competition, based on qualifications and examinations, for the recruitment of two (2) full-time, fixed-term positions as Technical Research Collaborator (CTER), professional level VI, and one (1) Administrative Collaborator (CAMM), professional level VII.
INVALSI is launching a new idea competition for upper secondary school students, inviting them to contribute to the design of the new scientific journal, the European Journal of Evaluation and Research in Education.
We are pleased to inform you that the slides and videos from the plenary and parallel sessions of the 10th Seminar “Data from and for the education system: tools for research and teaching” are now available.
The volume collects several research papers presented at the eighth edition of the “INVALSI Data: A Tool for Teaching and Scientific Research” seminar (Rome, 23-26 November 2023), whose theme is educational inequality and school dropout in Italy and Europe. It provides data, reflections, and practical strategies to promote a more equitable and inclusive education system.
The inaugural lecture of the Level II Master’s programme “MISEQ – Theories, Methodologies and Practices for Measuring Equity in the School System” is scheduled for Friday 13 February 2026. The programme is organised by the Faculty of Education at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in collaboration with INVALSI.
The December issue of the newsletter “The Insights of the Statistical Department”, is dedicated to INVALSI’s participation in the FLIP+ Community. This initiative serves as a forum for discussion and experimentation with active and inclusive methodologies. The initiative aims to build a strong and participatory network capable of generating value for the entire school community, while promoting continuous professional development through workshops, meetings and online activities.
