This volume brings together five papers presented during the VII Seminar “INVALSI Data: A Tool for Research and Teaching” (Rome, 27–30 October 2022). The authors demonstrate how not only the data released by INVALSI, but also the tools themselves, can be effectively used to initiate processes of educational improvement.
The topic addressed in this issue of the newsletter is the new platform for reporting the results of the INVALSI assessments to schools, which will be launched in the coming weeks. Starting from the current school year, it will operate alongside the existing platform and eventually replace it. The new system offers schools several advantages: access to a larger volume of data, the ability to explore various topics related to the National Assessments in greater depth, and a more interactive website that provides a personalised browsing experience tailored to different needs.
This volume brings together five papers presented during the VI Seminar “INVALSI Data: A Tool for Research and Teaching” (Rome, 25–28 november 2021). From different perspectives, the authors show how INVALSI data can serve as an investigative tool within the classroom.
The topic of the August issue of “Insights from the Statistical Department” is the presentation of the INVALSI 2024 Report, which took place on 11 July. As usual, the event marks the conclusion of an extensive process in which INVALSI is engaged in one of its most important responsibilities within the National Evaluation System: the regular and systematic assessment of students’ knowledge and skills, as well as the overall quality of the educational provision offered by schools.
Today, 11 July, 2024, the INVALSI National Report 2024 has been presented at the Chamber of Deputies.
In this issue of the newsletter “Insights from the Statistical Department”, readers will have the opportunity to explore a topic related to the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), which was the subject of a plenary session during the 8th edition of the Seminar “INVALSI Data: A Tool for Research and Teaching.” With the approval of the PNRR, a series of initiatives have been launched to support the country’s recovery across various sectors — including, of course, the key sector of education.
We take advantage of this time of year — which, for the Institute, represents the culmination of one of its most well-known activities — to dedicate this issue of the newsletter “Insights from the Statistical Department” to an overview of the INVALSI assessments: their introduction and the regulatory changes that have taken place over the years.
On May 27, the event “INEQUALITIES, INNOVATION, AND EDUCATION” will take place, presenting research projects on the topic of educational poverty in Italy.
