As in the previous issue (December 2024), this edition of “Insights from the Statistical Department” is also dedicated to exploring the content and informational potential of the Open Data made available by INVALSI to all users.
This volume brings together five papers presented during the VII Seminar “INVALSI Data: A Tool for Research and Teaching” (Rome, 27–30 October 2022). It features reflections and analyses by teachers and researchers engaged in the field of educational research, aimed at continuously seeking responses to the various changes that may affect the school system.
The December issue of the newsletter “Insights from the Statistical Department” offers some insights into the potential of the data released by INVALSI. As previously noted (see Newsletter No. 4, March 2022), the information assets produced by INVALSI have for some years now been made publicly available in Open Data format.
The training course, totaling 25 hours (20 of which are delivered in synchronous online sessions), is entirely online and aims to provide primary and lower/upper secondary school teachers with tools to interpret and use the results of the National Assessments in their teaching, organizational, and governance activities—also by engaging the broader school community.
This volume brings together seven papers presented during the VII Seminar “INVALSI Data: A Tool for Research and Teaching” (Rome, 27–30 October 2022), within the panel dedicated to learning environments — the space in which metacognitive, relational, social, and cultural learning takes place.

The November issue of the newsletter “Insights from the Statistical Department” is dedicated to the 9th Seminar “Data of and for the Education System: Tools for Research and Teaching.” This event has become a key fixture among the initiatives managed and organised by the Statistical Service, and once again this year, it successfully fulfilled its goal of bringing together the worlds of scientific research and education. It provided a valuable space for researchers and teachers to exchange ideas and engage in meaningful dialogue.
On 6 November at 5:00 p.m., a training webinar will be held on the ZOOM platform, during which the goals and objectives of the ENRICH Project will be presented, along with the participation procedures for the schools involved.
The event will also be an important opportunity to explore the crucial role of socio-emotional skills in today's educational context and their impact on students’ academic achievement and overall well-being.
