Artificial Intelligence (AI) is no longer a matter reserved for the future or limited to the technological sphere: it is already a reality that is profoundly transforming every sector of society, including education. This month’s issue of the newsletter “Insights from the Statistical Department” aims to offer a critical and up-to-date perspective on one of the most crucial topics of our time, presenting key reflections from the lecture by lawyer Ernesto Belisario, titled “Artificial Intelligence and Education: New Regulatory Challenges and Legal Perspectives,” delivered during the 9th edition of the Seminar “Data of and for the Education System: Tools for Research and Teaching".
The April issue of the newsletter “Insights from the Statistical Department” is dedicated to the use and significance of INVALSI data for Education Policy — the decisions and trends that shape education and the school system. These policies aim to improve educational outcomes, ensure the right to education, and promote inclusion.
The March 2025 issue of the newsletter “Insights from the Statistical Department” focuses on the new INVALSI assessment of Digital Competences, which involves second-year students in upper secondary schools. For the 2024/25 school year, the test is administered only to sample classes.
The event “GDPR and Research: Between Constraints and Opportunities” will be held on 13 March.
As in the previous issue (January 2025), the February edition of “Insights from the Statistical Department” continues the series of topics dedicated to the importance and value of Open Data.
As in the previous issue (December 2024), this edition of “Insights from the Statistical Department” is also dedicated to exploring the content and informational potential of the Open Data made available by INVALSI to all users.
The event “AI Put to the Test: Evaluating Large‑Scale Language Models on INVALSI Tests” will take place on 20 January 2025.
